Part of the complete guide: Maintenance & performance

If you look at your inverter app in July and panic, read this first. Generation follows the sky, and South Kerala has a clear pattern.

The pattern

MonthsWhat to expect
Dec – FebClear skies, cool panels: excellent yield.
Mar – MayLongest days but hot panels: very good, with occasional pre-monsoon clouds.
Jun – AugHeavy cloud: output can fall to roughly half of a clear day.
Sep – NovNorth-east monsoon showers, mixed: moderate to good.

The annual average works out to about 4 units per kW per day, which is the number our calculator uses.

When to worry

If the app shows output 15–20% below a similar clear day last year, the cause is usually dirt, shade growth or a tripped breaker, not weather. See the maintenance guide.

Always verify. Subsidy, tariff and price figures change; confirm with the official portal, KSEB / TNPDCL and a written quote.
